Hotel Mio Riviera Nayarit - Adults Only

When road closures left us stranded and our flights were canceled, the hotel put current guests first. They let us extend our stay by two days at a discount and provided dinner for both days. The staff did an amazing job through all of it. We felt the hotel cared about its customers, not only their money. From arrival onward, the personnel were friendly throughout the hotel, and our room was cool. The rooftop garden is a standout, with several pools and jacuzzis.

The location is in the resort area, but an inexpensive, quick Uber gets you into the city. Nearby food and shops are good, though they could be a little better. We loved our stay, and my partner enjoyed it just as much. We had a panoramic view room with a great outlook, a nice shower, and AC that worked well. A kettle in the room would have been handy. The waitstaff and hotel staff were kind, helpful, and good at their jobs. Room service felt a little overpriced, though that's understandable for a hotel. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a good deal. We visited in mid-January 2026, and have been together long-term.

Thank you to Andre, Hugo, the older bar manager, the female server with tattoos, and all the behind-the-scenes hotel staff who looked after guests during the cartel attacks. They worked with little rest, making sure people were fed and cared for, while separated from their own loved ones and families during a difficult time. They also had to deal with many unreasonable guests. Their effort didn't go unnoticed. They deserve a raise and should be considered for promotion.

The area felt pretty dead, with row after row of huge hotels full of older Americans. I should have stayed in the old town, where there's more of a vibe. I was there for only two nights, and the AC didn't work. I reported it and asked for help, but nothing was done. The room got hot and sweaty without airflow, and I couldn't open the balcony windows because nightclub noise went on all night.
