The concierge was helpful and could call a driver wherever we wanted to go, though that cost more than twice as much as In-Drive or Uber. Food and drinks, including beer, wine, and margaritas, can be brought to your table, but the staff were short-handed and service was slow. I felt safe there, and overall it’s a great place. The beach is right there, with lovely sand that isn’t rocky, warm water, a gentle entry, and little undertow when we visited. Neither the beach nor the pool is supervised. The pool works well for kids and adults of all ages, there’s a hot tub, and there are lots of palapas. You’re supposed to have a membership to use the blue or pink pole palapas; without one, you get the orange ones farthest from the water. You can’t get a membership if your VRBO is behind on condo fees. They were just starting to enforce that more strictly while we were there. Tip: La Commer delivers groceries without a delivery fee. I’d give the driver 50 pesos to thank them for the service.

The new resort next door, Unico, has made this place unbearable. Its music is so loud that you can feel the thumping from the beach, even 100 meters away. The noise in front of Tower 1 was beyond belief, and we finally left at 4:45 pm today after listening to extremely loud music during their special event. I’ve been coming here for 17 years. It used to be somewhere to relax, sit on the beach, read, or listen to the ocean. That’s over now. The Unico development has ruined what used to be a peaceful destination. People who have rented here for years may need to look elsewhere, and owners thinking of selling might have to accept a lower price to move a property that was once attractive. I’m giving one star to warn anyone considering a stay.

For more than 20 years, our five weeks a year in the condo we co-owned have felt like absolute paradise. We’ve never regretted buying our share. The people are great, the area feels safe, and there are wonderful restaurants close by, along with the beach and pool.

It’s right on the beach, and you can walk to several restaurants, the Mall, and Starbucks. Carlos on the Concierge staff is very helpful. The gated community has excellent security, so you can relax knowing you’re in a safe area. You can’t ask for much more.
