Hotel CasAntica

I stopped by to see the hotel before my upcoming stay. The staff were friendly, the rooms looked nice, and the location was great. There’s a small pool in the middle, and the old architecture is wonderful.

Our room’s WiFi didn’t work, and the room itself had no windows. It was hot, humid, stuffy, and smelled of chlorine since it was on the ground floor right beside the pool. The staff room was next door. Starting at 6 every morning, we’d hear staff talking loudly, moving metal chairs across the stone floor, going in and out with crates of bottles, dropping boxes, and vacuuming. That only stopped around 8:30, when breakfast guests started coming down and noise from the breakfast room took over. We understand people have work to do early, but having the room where supplies are kept in the middle of guest rooms didn’t seem acceptable. We asked reception to remind staff that guests were sleeping next door and to avoid shouting or dropping things outside our room. They said they’d speak to them and do something, but nothing changed. We were woken at 6 am for the next two days.

Service was great, and the location is amazing. We could walk to the Zocalo, markets, and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the pool was great. WiFi was available, and I’d rate it 8/10. I took off one star because my room, 502, had poor lighting and no windows apart from the ones in the doors. If you need bright light to get ready, bring a portable makeup light. The TV had cable but wasn’t high quality or a smart TV.

We stayed in a “Junior King Size” room and had no issues with it. The AC worked beautifully, and the staff were incredibly helpful. We loved swimming in the courtyard pool, too. Hotel Casantica is a beautiful, romantic space in an unbeatable location. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go in 15 minutes or less. We loved our stay and would come back.
