The photos and 4 star rating gave a false impression. Outside, there wasn’t even a visible sign with the place’s name. Our room had six unnecessary light switches, a TV and lamp but no power sockets except in the bathroom. The bathroom seemed improvised, with a curtain that wouldn’t close instead of a door, and shower water ran onto the room floor. They did give us towels and clean the room, but staff were barely around when we needed them. It’s basically someone’s garden turned into a business.

The temazcal sauna was overpriced, small, and never got hot enough. They stopped us before an hour was up and said our time was finished. The hotel is old and moldy, the service is nonexistent, and the place felt unfriendly. It’s an expensive tourist trap with bad vibes. Go somewhere else.

It’s reasonably priced and has a traditional kitchen service at night, with tlayudas and tostadas. A good place to stay, though it isn’t very luxurious.

Maybe I just had bad luck. I was offered a room with a TV, hot water, and Wi-Fi, but the room I got was run down and had neither a TV nor hot water, even though I’d asked for them. There were cockroaches too.
