Hotel San Nicolas

The beds are comfortable, the Wi-Fi signal is good, and there's plenty of parking. The location is good too. They only take cash, no credit cards, and using the pool costs extra.

It's fine for getting some rest and covers the basics. Some rooms need a closer look, though. A few pieces of furniture are rotting where they meet the wall, and in some rooms the trash hadn't been taken out. The rooms need maintenance and freshening up to get rid of that musty smell.

I'm from Ometepec, but I can't recommend this hotel at all. My family's stay was awful, and it ruined our vacation. The room cleaning was terrible: they only made the bed, didn't even shake it out, and left the towels unchanged. They didn't clean the pool or provide toilet paper, much less shampoo or conditioner. The mattresses felt like rocks, and the pillows were so thin it felt like my head was hanging off them. There's only room for three cars in the parking lot, and you have to back out the same way you came in because there's no space to turn around. Someone hit our car, and the hotel refused to take responsibility. Mrs. Valverde, the hotel manager, was very rude and kept forgetting things. We booked a month ahead, but when we arrived, they had no record of it. They only honored the reservation after we showed them our WhatsApp messages and bank payment receipts. The Wi-Fi didn't reach the second floor, let alone the third. There was no water, and the power was out for more than half the day. I don't recommend this place whatsoever. They don't deserve even one star, but the site wouldn't let me post without leaving one.

There's a range of rooms to suit different budgets, and the staff are excellent. The pool was clean, and the service was first class. It's not far from the center, with everything accessible. I'd recommend it, with excellent service and a great night's rest guaranteed.
