Hotel Misión Orizaba

I had a really nice time here, but the customer service needs work. I asked them to wake me at 2 am and they didn't, so that's why I'd give it four stars overall.

The hotel is clean and well maintained, but it feels old, starkly designed, and overpriced for what you get. The furniture in the rooms is visibly old and dirty, with too many layers of paint. Bathrooms and closets feel unfinished, with no doors, and the lamps are just bare bulbs. The gym is in bad shape, with equipment that doesn't work, and the pool is too small to use. Staff are competent, but indifferent, and couldn't sort out complaints or problems.

Breakfast at 7 am wasn't ready. There was no hot coffee, and the kitchen seemed barely awake. In our room, the shower drained onto the floor and mold was growing in a corner. We could hear everything from the street, with no sound barrier. The room was only partly clean, there weren't enough towels, and we got just one roll of toilet paper. Hot water took forever, and all the furniture was old and dated. I won't stay here again.

My family is being held hostage here right now, though I'm not sure whether they're in the hotel or were kidnapped from there. Someone is asking for 100mil pesos per person, about 5,000 each in US money. My 1-year-old and my cousin, who's around 4, are being held too. Don't come here.
