Really nasty place, and not worth the money. The customer service is awful too. This place sucks.

Really great.

I came to stay while watching a Pachuca game. The place was clean and fairly priced, with a roomy, relaxed common area, hammocks, and wooden rocking chairs. My room looked stylish, had warm light and candles, and the big bed was comfortable. The shower had decent pressure, and the kitchen was there to use. The owner was very friendly, which some guests will really enjoy. Getting in takes some effort. You have to call the owner using the contact details in your booking email once you're near the property, then wait for them to bring the key. They arrived quickly for me, but the process still took time and was a hassle. The lock itself can be hard to work, so call the owner if you can't open the door. They even came in the middle of the night when needed. Staff aren't always around, either, and you have to switch on the boiler about 15 minutes before a shower. They didn't seem keen to change the locks. I had a good stay as long as the key cooperated. If you're willing to deal with that, I'd recommend the inn.

At a little over €15 a night, it felt somewhat overpriced. The hostel sits in a courtyard off a side street, right in the center, and my basic room was clean. The kitchen was tiny and unlit when I tried to use it, while the bathroom was cramped and dated. There was no hot water when I went to shower, even though I'd been told there would be. The door has no latch, so it has to be locked.

We couldn't check in when we arrived because there was no reception, so we had to wait for the manager. The rooms were dirty and messy despite us giving our arrival time in advance. The bathroom and kitchen were also dirty and untidy. There was a constant rattling from the ceiling, day and night, because a piece of plastic was stuck to a tile. We had paid for two nights, but the next morning the manager said they would fumigate for scorpions and we could only stay one night. We complained that the night was already paid for. He suggested another hostel supposedly “three blocks” away, though it was actually a 25-minute walk, and said we'd have to cover the price difference. We said no, and he asked us to call the owner. She was extremely rude and tactless. When we explained that we'd booked weeks earlier and shouldn't have to pay extra because she'd forgotten the fumigation, she argued, refused a refund, and told us we should be considerate and pay more for the other hostel. Then she hung up after telling us to “fix it ourselves.” The manager apologized for her behavior and for the situation, and returned our money so we could find somewhere else ourselves. Later, the accommodation changed my Booking reservation for 2025. I noticed and asked the owner to cancel it so the stay wouldn't remain on my account. If I canceled it myself, the full amount would be charged to my card, and she wouldn't allow that. She said she'd cancel only if I agreed not to write any positive or negative comments about what happened and acted as if we'd never met. I accepted because I wanted to avoid credit card trouble and get out of the situation quickly. Since the reservation was canceled, I couldn't leave a review, so I contacted Booking to report what happened. It's extremely serious to accept bookings for dates when a property is due to be fumigated, the owner's disrespectful response to a problem like this, withholding money and credit card information, and pressuring guests to prevent bad reviews. Customers pay for their stay and deserve good service.
