We had a great time in Playa, apart from the apartment and the rental company. I’m sharing this to warn other people, not to get sympathy or smart comments. I already raised all of this with Playamoments, but they weren’t much help. Apartment 6PK0A in Aldea Thai was spacious, with a large table and sofa, big bathrooms, comfortable beds, and gorgeous linens. But it was dirty when we arrived: the terrace was grimy, the kitchen filthy, bathroom sinks clogged with hair, and the drains smelled bad. There were mosquitoes and cockroaches, too. The apartment itself was falling apart. All the shower faucets were broken, the showerheads clogged, and water came out unpredictably. The main microwave was broken, so they left a small one on the counter instead. The air conditioner made such a terrible whining noise that we couldn’t leave it on overnight, and there was no hot water at first. They fixed the hot water, but then the tank leaked and flooded the kitchen. We had to wade through water for 24 hours because they wouldn’t come repair it. There was no mop, so we used our towels to soak up what we could. The woman from Playamoments said the air-conditioning noise was a problem with the building, but that was rubbish. I went into another apartment and it didn’t have the same issue, so she was lying. The towels were worn, stained, and very low quality. The sunbeds had no pads, just splintering, rotten wood unlike the picture. The kitchen wasn’t fully equipped as described: very little cutlery or crockery, no kettle, toaster, dishwasher, oven, tea towels, washing machine, or dryer, and no basic supplies. The only coffee was a jar of very old stuff with a few teaspoons of coffee solid at the bottom. By the way, this apartment is also for sale, so buyers beware!
