Aldea Thai - Oceanfront PH w/ Rooftop & Private Pool

The property manager was kind, responsive, and tried to help, but there were too many serious problems to make up for. The power and water both went out during our stay, which was extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable. The rooms were in rough shape, parts of the property seemed to be falling apart, and the sheets had visible stains. I really wanted to enjoy the stay, but it was a big disappointment and I can’t recommend it.

After staying here, I wouldn’t go back to a resort. I’ve been three times and love the pool, beach, and walkable location, plus the chance to spend time around people who live here and experience real playa. I always rent the same unit, with two bedrooms and three bathrooms. That many bathrooms is a lifesaver when traveling with a man or a few girlfriends, and the kitchen has been a big help too. The rooftop patio and private pool are favorites of mine. Once I fell asleep in the roof hammock and woke up with little green birds perched around me, like a Disney princess.

We had a great stay with our group. The rooms are a little dated, but you can’t beat the location and the service was excellent. The management team handled our initial concerns really well. I’d stay here again.

We spent nine nights in penthouse unit ATC09, from Feb 08-17, paying a rate that suggested a luxury condo. The rooftop patio was the only real plus. The building is old, dated, and needs updating, and the rate is far too high for its quality. We had no water on six of the nine mornings and power outages almost every day. The elevator broke twice, making the three flights of stairs difficult. Internet kept cutting out, and without Wi-Fi the TVs didn’t work. There was no oven or BBQ, and no washing machine. For four people, they provided just six bath towels and two hand towels for the entire stay, then wanted to charge us to replace them. We had to complain before they gave us more free. You have to carry your garbage down to the basement because there are no chutes. The unit smelled like sewage, so we spent money keeping candles burning. The shower and toilet in the main bedroom had poor water pressure, while the sink pressure was so strong that water sprayed everywhere.
