The pool and atmosphere are great, the musical acts are really talented, and the staff are lovely. Housekeeping was the best I’ve ever had, and the location is excellent. The wifi could be better, though, and this is a social place, so if you want to get to sleep at a reasonable hour, you may want to stay elsewhere. Don’t expect to turn in before 11!

Our group of 12 Canadians has been visiting Playa for more than 12 years, but this was our first time at the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Somehow we’d missed it before. Last night it was packed with Canadians there to hear the local 70s rock band Phoenix, who were fantastic. Their YouTube clips don’t do them justice live. The Lebanese menu was new to us, but the chicken pita was great, and others in our group enjoyed their meals too. We were lucky to have Adrian as our waiter. He was amazing and had a naturally cheerful smile. Happy hour runs from 5pm to 7pm, and the 2 for 1 margaritas were really good. We’ll definitely go back if we can get another reservation on a live band night.

I went for a live Reggae show on the rooftop. I can’t comment on the rooms, but the service and atmosphere were awesome, and the show was great. If there’s an event here, it’s worth checking out. We had a great time on a really nice rooftop.

The staff are absolutely amazing, but I didn’t realize they hosted NIGHT events. It never crossed my mind that a hotel would have live parties at night. Local rules prohibit noise after 11pm or above 65 decimals, but they clearly don’t care. This feels like a club with rooms, not a place to sleep. I took the video at 1145pm. What makes it more frustrating is that they say they do their best to tell guests about the nightlife. Nobody told me there’d be parties during my stay, even though I booked five months ago. Anyone who wants to sleep should know they won’t get it here.

We’ve been coming to the rooftop pool and restaurant for two years. The food, service, music, and general vibe are great. Janette is especially kind and accommodating.
