We spent four weeks at Camp Akumal, staying in unit #1 with our two kids, who are 6 and 8. Dana (Owner) and her team made us feel at home. The grounds are beautiful, and our place was clean and comfortable. The nearby pools were nice and convenient. Dana shared useful information about the area, which helped us choose what to do since there are so many activities and experiences nearby. Camp Akumal is centrally located, so most places are a short drive away, yet it was peaceful enough to rest away from the tourist centers. We rented a car from Camp Akumal too, and it was reliable and practical. We highly recommend the place, especially for families with young children.

We've stayed twice and really like having this place as a clean, comfortable home base for a vacation. The location is great, and the Canadians are pretty cool too. We'll definitely be back.

Our favorite hotel of the trip through Mexico. The owners were so nice, the rooms were comfortable and well equipped, and both swimming pools were perfect.

We had a fantastic time, and John and Cote made us feel like family. It's a great base for visiting nearby beaches and all sorts of other places. The beds were comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the grounds were fun to explore. You really need to rent a car. I'd highly recommend staying here.

John welcomed us late at night, which we really appreciated. The bungalow was lovely and comfortable, with a clean pool and a peaceful setting that worked well as a base for nearby sights. It was very good value for the standard of the accommodation, with comfortable beds and good aircon in the rooms only. There's plenty to visit nearby, and Xcaret is worth a look. I wouldn't recommend Akumal beach. It felt like a tourist scam and left me with a very poor view of tourism in this area.
