Casa Chanty

The beach was fantastic, with clean sand and clear, shallow water. We did have a few days with seaweed, but that’s part of nature and common in this area. We were two families, each with two adults and two kids, staying upstairs. The house was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and the views were incredible. There was plenty of room to sit around the pool and lounge area, and the staff were very helpful. Beto the cook was awesome too. His dinners were delicious and full of authentic Mexican flavors. We’ll be back!

We spent a week in the penthouse at the end of March. The location was great for day trips to Cancun, Puerto Morales, and Playa del Carmen. The beach itself is phenomenal, with plenty of room for long walks, and staff cleaned the Sargassum every day, so it was one of the best swimming spots. The outdoor area is welcoming, well arranged, and great for meals and time together. The host and staff were all friendly and helpful. The dogs on the property were great too. It felt private except when people were staying downstairs. The house has what you need, though it feels more like a family cottage than a luxury place. Some of the beach gear needs replacing: the paddle board leaked so badly we couldn’t carry it back up the beach, and the paddle was too flexible. The loft sleeps four, but isn’t very practical. Its narrow cylindrical staircase and two low beams at the top mean an average-sized adult has to bend a lot to get in and out. There’s no bathroom up there, so getting up at night means dealing with those stairs and beams. If the lower level is occupied, you’ll need to share the outdoor areas and beach equipment. We met some wonderful people downstairs, but sharing might not be what you want on vacation. We had a fantastic, relaxing time at Casa Chanty. The location and views make it easy to unwind, and I’d recommend it.

We basically had the beach to ourselves, and the views were great. The apartment has everything you need for a good stay with family or friends. If you want somewhere secluded, away from the crowds but still comfortable like home, this is the place.
