The noise was unbearable after four nights. Music from the beach club blasted until 6 am, and the tile floors and open entrance carried sound into every room. I also heard people talking and dragging luggage downstairs. When I asked the receptionist for a refund for the four nights I had left, they said there were no refunds. One of the worst hotels here.

At checkout, they hassled me over a missing “do not disturb” tag on the door. They accused me of stealing it, and I missed my bus because of the whole conversation. I’m never coming back. A hotel should be embarrassed by this. Get your priorities straight.

For the price, it’s hard to find a better deal, and you’re close to everything. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The beds are pretty firm, I have to say, but we managed to sleep on them.

The beach is the real draw here, with the best part of Playa del Carmen right in front of the hotel and only minutes from your room. It’s also a very handy spot for 5th Ave, all the things there, and the airport bus station, which is literally a two-minute walk. We’d come back for the location and beach. The hotel itself is basic: the pool is awful, with nowhere to sit and nothing to look at, and the vacant lot between the hotel and beach is ugly. The comfortable king bed and okay bathroom were fine, though there was no table in the room. It’s clean and convenient, but if you plan to hang around the hotel, you’ll be disappointed. Don’t take a ground floor room, since you won’t have a view, and that would be a shame.
