Hotel San Vicente

Perfect location, that's the one good thing about this hotel. There was no bed linen, and we had to ask for it. The toilet wouldn't flush, and lots of things were old. If you want to spend time at the hotel, look somewhere else. But if you're just being a tourist and need a place to crash, it's great value.

We found a better hotel down the road for the same price, so after an hour we decided to cancel the rest of our stay and spend only one night here. We'd arrived late and were given a room that looked like a jail cell. The bathroom floor was dirty, the TV didn't work, there was no hot water, and paint was peeling off the walls. It was horrible. The pool was freezing and had problems too. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

The beds were relatively comfortable and the location was great, but the hotel was in poor condition and very dirty. There was pee all around the toilet, the towels were stained and ripped, and the curtain was stained and wouldn't open. When I asked to cancel, they told me to do it through booking.com, which is a time-consuming process if you haven't used it. The hotel manager knew about the condition and said they were in the process of renovating the older rooms. See pictures for the overall condition.

We had a lovely 5 days at the hotel. The staff's attitude was like being with friends, and they helped with any issues or questions. If you need something, just use Google voice translator, smile, and ask. I booked a room with breakfast, and they prepared a tasty one specially when I needed it. There's a lot to like for an economy option, and at the time, in Feb 2021, we couldn't find anything better at this price, though there are some drawbacks. The shower stream is extremely weak, and the shower system and drain need attention. Having cutlery in the room with a kitchen would also help. Everything else was really fine.
