The room was lovely and private, without a resort view, and the grounds were beautiful. We had a good time overall, with good food and service that was decent, though not outstanding. Our concierge butlers were especially helpful with dinner bookings and spa appointments. The Impressions pools were a better fit for us; the Secrets side felt too much like a party while a couple of corporate events seemed to be going on. Pool staff on the Impressions side were attentive, though service at a few Secrets restaurants fell short. The biggest problem was the room. It had a really strong mildew smell every time we walked in, and the odor clung to our clothes and bags all the way home. We had to wash everything repeatedly. I can't imagine there wasn't hidden mold somewhere, given how bad it was. I've stayed at many resorts around Cancun and never had this happen to this extent. At this price, they should be managing humidity better. Would I pay this much again for a room that may have mold? Probably not.

The pools are a real highlight, especially Rooftop + Cielo, and we also enjoyed the spa. They let us use the included massage in exchange for hydrocircuit therapy. We were upgraded to a spacious, beautiful ocean view room, which was kept up well and cleaned when we requested it. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our butlers Rafa and Gilbert stayed on top of things. There’s lots of good food to choose from, though restaurants can get packed at peak times. Going at an off hour may help, and the Impression side was quieter. It would help if they took restaurant reservations to cut down on lines. The resort credit is hard to use unless you spend quite a lot first. If you want more privacy and fewer crowds, the Impression upgrade is worth the extra cost. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks for everything! ❤️

The long food waits and early pool closing were two things I didn't expect at this price. On our first afternoon, our butler said every restaurant was booked and suggested a walk-in, saying the wait would be 40 minutes max. We waited two hours to be seated. Food service was slow at nearly every restaurant except Bisou. Allora's appetizers disappointed, the tomatoes were green, and it didn't feel Italian. Ember was also a letdown: service dragged, the meat wasn't prepared well, and my medium well came out very well done. Bisou was a surprise in the other direction, with excellent food and desserts and outstanding service from Ismael. Seasoul was easily our best lunch, with amazing food in a lovely setting. We had lunch at Cielo twice and loved the smash burger and brownie. Market Cafe had a solid breakfast buffet with lots of variety. Observatory was great for breakfast on our last day, but the food took a long time again. The resort itself is gorgeous, spotless, and has plenty of restaurants. Live music at Bamboo every night was one of our favorite parts. The coffee shop was just okay, and the cocktails were consistently too sweet however we ordered them. The beach was unusable because of the seaweed, so don't come expecting to swim there. Pools and hot tubs all shut at 7 pm, which felt too early for a luxury resort. The room was beautiful and had a fantastic rain shower, but the indoor and outdoor tubs were identical, and jets in the outdoor one might have helped. The spa water circuit was relaxing and the massage was good, though nothing extraordinary. We only went because we got free passes through the UVC presentation. That presentation wasn't worth it: it went well past the promised 90 minutes, with lots of small talk before the numbers. Management got pushy when we said no, and Draco wasn't cordial afterward. We nearly missed our complimentary massage because it ran so long, but Giuliano helped us get a last minute spa slot, which we appreciated. Butler service didn't add much for us; replies were slow and most reservation requests couldn't be secured. We came for a three-day birthday trip and left with mixed feelings. We booked with points, and it still cost a LOT of them. The place looks stunning, but we didn't feel it justified the price, especially since Secrets and Impressions share most restaurants and facilities.

The rooftop views at Cielo and Teodoro are breathtaking, and the meals we had there, along with Seaside, were all great. Suki's sushi omiakase was the best meal of the week and worth every bit of the extra cost. We didn't feel a need to eat on the Secrets side beyond the sushi. We stayed on the Impressions side and had our own private pool, not one of those connected swim out rooms you find at other Secrets resorts. Julio was fabulous. The butlers kept up with what we needed, arranged incredible tasting meals, and even surprised us with a hot tub setup for our anniversary. Jonathan, Ruby, and Guillermo kept our drinks topped up with the top shelf alcohol we liked. This may be the best vacation spot. It felt magical, and I was honestly sad to leave. We'll absolutely come back, and I hope Hyatt opens more Impressions locations.

The rooms were spacious, beautiful, and quiet, and the service was great. Cesar was such a kind, attentive butler and made sure we had an amazing stay. The food was some of the best I've had at a resort, too. We went in November, and seaweed wasn't an issue for us. The ocean was enough for what we wanted, though I can see how the beach might feel small and have seaweed at other times. If you're mainly planning to spend the whole trip on the beach, that may matter. Otherwise, I'd absolutely book here. The pools are the big draw. There are good ones throughout the resort, but the Impressions pools are on another level, and the upgrade was well worth it for those and the food options. If you love pools, this place is an easy choice.
