It beach

We stayed with Miguel, who was fabulous, and the time at It Beach was spectacular. The hotel is clean, the beach is clear, and the staff are kind and attentive. I loved being able to enjoy the beach without getting sandy, or watch a sprinkle pass from the deck while staying dry. I’d choose a south corner unit: from there you can look out over the ocean and see down the beach through the side windows. Miguel is highly recommended on Airbnb or through a direct hotel booking. A warning about Rose on Airbnb: I believe she has the first-floor middle unit with a plunge pool. She canceled our reservation at the last minute because she wanted to take a different rental, which was disappointing.

The location is great, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rooms are small, though they’d be okay for a night or two if it weren’t for the noise. IT beach sits between two awful beach clubs, and music plays nonstop. We could feel the bass in our room, and even the TV couldn’t drown it out. We’re paying for a vacation, so we shouldn’t have to bring noise-canceling headphones. You might book a beachfront place for the peace and the view, but that wasn’t our experience here.

The place is immaculate. Marisa is amazing, and Donald responds quickly. Stay away from Benjamin, he’s no fun when you’re on vacation.

We had an amazing view from our room, with the beautiful white sand beach just steps away. The rooftop bar had great food and drinks, and other good restaurants on Calle 38 are within walking distance. The modern rooms are very comfortable, and staff are always available. A great place to stay in Playa del Carmen.
