The people working here were very nice, and the street bar is great, with cheap food made with care. The hostel has private rooms, but it was noisy, like everywhere in Playa. The room was spacious, though it had no windows or furniture. Also, there isn't a rooftop pool, despite what the picture here shows.

The rooftop was a great place to hang out, and the beach is quite close. Walmart and Mega are walkable too. I stayed over Christmas and had a lovely time, and I'd come back. The place was clean and everyone, staff included, was friendly. The bed was incredible, with really soft sheets. The water got properly hot once it had been running for a bit.

The location of both the hostel and its private-room section is good, but the photos don't look like the real place. We found much nicer hostels nearby for less money. This was easily the worst one we stayed in during more than a month of traveling in Mexico. The room floor felt oily, so I wouldn't even walk on it barefoot. They charge way too much for what you get. I really wouldn't recommend it. There are plenty of other places in Playa.

The staff were friendly, at least. The bathroom was another story: shower water sprayed all over the room except where you stand, and it was cold. The toilet flushed so slowly that anything left in it just floated there forever, like a tiny castaway. The sink made a noise like a very hungry dinosaur. There was hair on the floor, so the cleaning didn't seem thorough. The sheets were heavily stained and looked disgusting, and the towels were the same. Then there was a rather rude note saying you'd be charged for staining the sheets, as if they could look any worse.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and knew the area well. The location is great, right by the beach and close to shops and restaurants. I'll definitely come back.
