The location made this an easy place to come back to. The beach is about a five-minute walk, and the hotel offers a discount at Kool Beach Club. Restaurants, shops, and convenience stores are just steps away. This was our second visit, and we'd stay here again on another trip to Playa del Carmen. We had a spacious, clean, quiet deluxe garden suite with a full kitchen, dining table, one double bed and one single bed. From the semi-private porch, we could look over the garden and pool while sitting in the hammock. We also heard live music from there on a few evenings. The beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Coffee, croissants, and muffins were put out in the lobby each morning. The muffins were more like cake by our standards. There didn't seem to be a huge supply, so I can't say whether late risers would find any left.

There are some cute places to eat nearby, and the lobby has a cute bar. We could hear its live band in our ground-floor room, though it wrapped up by 11pm. Noise from the main street never reached us, which was a nice plus.

We'd happily come back next time we're in town. It's right in the heart of town, so we could walk everywhere. The property is lovely and full of greenery, plus there's a very nice cat. Our room was cozy and the staff were so kind.

The little bar itself is great, but I had repeated problems with the bartender. He gave me the wrong change and kept trying to take money. I caught him once, and he tried again the very next time. It had been my favorite bar, and I meant to visit regularly during my stay, but I don't want to keep arguing with a bartender over being shortchanged.

The bar is a lot of fun, and we always stop by when we're in Playa del Carmen. On our March 2013 stay, Luna Blue also gave us a wonderful room at a very reasonable price. It's in a great, safe spot just off famous 5th Avenue, only a few blocks from Playa del Carmen's fantastic beach. Jorge at the bar and Alex at the hotel desk were among the great employees.
