Maya Eco Village

A nice escape if you want peace and quiet, and we could definitely recommend it for a relaxing break away from the busy beaches of Quintana Roo. It felt like we were in the jungle, which makes sense because this place really is in the jungle. It's not very far from everything, but the dirt roads mean getting to the beach takes a while, so the location isn't the most convenient. The staff were friendly and down to earth, which suited the nature-focused feel. There's a lovely garden, a natural pool, and huts with hay roofs. The room was spacious, with a nice bathroom and porch, but the single bed was very hard; the double bed shown in the picture was fine. The air conditioning was poor, so I found it hard to sleep. Breakfast was simple and tasty. Coffee and tea were self-serve, while everything else was available on request. The place is run by French people, and I was told most visitors are french.

The place was cozy and relaxed, with a wonderful pool and professional, friendly staff. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back next year. At Christmas everything is decorated, and the atmosphere feels magical. Thanks for making our vacation special!

My stay at the Maya Eco Village was memorable, largely thanks to Amaya. She welcomed me warmly to her lovely jungle paradise, had lots of suggestions for places to visit and things to do, and was endlessly convivial. Merci beaucoup, Amaya.

We paid 135$ per night for a place with dirt, mold, and rust in the bathrooms, and they smelled bad. The rooms were old and dirty, and there was no Wi-Fi in them. The 'eco' pool is filled with water that isn't filtered or changed. The owner was very rude when clients told her they weren't happy with these conditions. I even read reviews saying some guests had their rooms robbed. This place is a bad joke. I don't understand how anyone gave it 5 stars!
