Posada Mariposa Boutique Hotel

The lobby has a pleasant smell and a nice design with nature worked into it. For what you pay, the place feels about right, though it seems to be run on a tight operation. The staff do their best to be friendly, but I wondered if the business is struggling to bring in enough revenue or profit to keep things going. The location is a real draw if you want to party or be right on fifth Avenue. Otherwise, it’s mostly somewhere to sleep, shower, and head out. There’s a restaurant next door they partner with for breakfast, and I found the coffee, toast, and fruit enough. Don’t expect much from the supplies. They don’t have enough towels, and even getting one extra isn’t possible. Bring your own towel, soap, and shampoo if you’re particular. For me, it was okay as long as I kept expectations low.

The hotel sits right among the bars but somehow isn’t too noisy. The rooms are clean, the beds are firm, and the pillows are just soft enough. The shower gets hot with great pressure, and Wi-Fi works in the room too.

You’re right in the tourist center of Playa del Carmen, with restaurants, clubs, bars, and shops just outside. Inside, it’s very quiet, and the staff are accommodating. The beds are pretty stiff and there’s no refrigerator in the room, but it’s good value for the money.

Saul and the other staff are really nice, and the service feels like five-star luxury even though it’s an inexpensive hotel. The place is beautiful, like a Garden of Eden. Orale pues gracias guey
