Sabbia Condos by Playa Paradise

This review is only about unit B403, not the whole building. SABBIA IS GOOD BUT NOT UNIT B403. I wish I’d seen a review like this before renting B403 at Sabbia. The building itself is appealing, but my experience with the owner, Maria Teresa, was awful. After I moved out, she blocked my number. I tried to contact her other ways about my security deposit, and she made up lies to keep all of it, even though I left the apartment in better condition than when I moved in. I’d always paid rent on time and been a responsible tenant, but no amount of communication got the deposit back. The apartment was also in bad shape. Appliances kept malfunctioning, and the constant breakdowns made it hard to feel comfortable at home. Cockroaches and other bugs kept coming back despite our efforts to keep the place clean. It was disgusting and unbearable. Renting from Maria, the owner of B403, was one of my worst decisions in Playa Del Carmen. Stay away from this unit. Consider this a warning.

We liked the location. It’s not on the beachfront, and you can’t see the beach from the balcony, but it’s only about a 10-minute walk along a lovely road. The apartments themselves are great, with a fairly spacious kitchen, stove, oven, and all the utensils you need. The air conditioners worked, and our unit had a washing machine with a dryer function. There’s also a shared pool and jacuzzi.

There’s a gym and a playroom for kids, and the shared areas, toilets, and grounds are cleaned regularly. Staff are polite and helpful, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach and close to 5th Avenida. The condo has a pool and a small, green, pretty grounds, with convenient apartments in different sizes. Some first-floor balconies have grills for barbecuing. Fair warning, you can smell the cooking around the property.

We always enjoy staying at these great condos. Prices depend on the number of bedrooms and guests, as well as the Airbnb host. Everything we need is within walking distance, and it’s a very safe area. There’s underground parking if you have a rental car.
