The room was tiny, but at least it had a balcony. The bed was good and the AC worked well, though the shower barely had a trickle of water and the WiFi was useless throughout the property. The room attendants were pleasant and accommodating. Fah, the hotel's restaurant and bar, was excellent. It closed around midnight, and the courtyard was quiet after that, but vents in the third-floor hallway let in noise from nearby bars. On our first night, a neighboring bar held an event that went on until 9am. Fifth Ave is nice to stay on, but north of 9th Street was too noisy for us. I'd aim for between 1st and 9th Streets.

The staff were very nice and the location is incredible, but the stay was loud and dated, and the online ads and promotions were misleading. We chose it after doing a lot of research because the listings showed a pool and a full breakfast from the bar menu. There was no pool we could use, and breakfast was described as “continental,” but it was only juice, bread, and a slice of fruit. For the extra cost, that dollar breakfast wasn't worth it. The false pool claims and overpriced breakfast were really disappointing.

There’s a great bar right at the hotel with a live band every night, which was amazing. The location is hard to beat, so I’d stay here again when I come back to Playa, even though this is definitely not a five-star hotel. The rooms are a decent size, but the showers are a bit small.

The hotel is right on the avenue, and that part was fine, but this was a shocking stay. There’s a bar attached to the front, with live rock bands playing past midnight, loud enough to feel like they’re right by your ear. The noise isn’t coming from the avenue. Drunk guests also screamed and sang outside our window into the early morning, and no one came to ask them to respect the other guests. The hotel is tiny, which made it worse. The rooms are dated, the linens smell, the TV is crap, and the shower is awkward to use. It really feels like a dive. There’s no pool or garden on site either, despite the pictures, those belong to a separate property. We may have taken budget travel too far with this one. I would definitely not recommend it unless you want the heebie jeebies.

At night, street noise was loud, and the room was little more than a king size bed squeezed into a tiny space that smelled moldy and was full of mosquitoes. The photos on Booking made it look nicer and cleaner than it was. The walls and doors looked dirty and rusty, there was no hot water in the shower, and the TV blocked the only window. That window didn't even look out on the courtyard.
