The location is the only redeeming part. The stress, disrespect, and overall experience aren't worth it. The unit was dirty, in poor condition, unlike the description and photos, and we had to clean it ourselves before it was usable. The AC didn't work at all. Communication with the host, “Mr. A,” was almost nonexistent, and he was essentially unreachable. There's a front desk, but staff didn't seem to care about guests or basic responsibilities. We asked for fresh towels from the first day and didn't get them until the night before checkout. The phone in the unit didn't work, so we contacted Delta ourselves to try to sort it out. Delta said they couldn't reach the host either. We booked and paid through Delta Stays with American Express, but the property said it didn't accept AMEX. Then we were threatened with eviction unless we used another payment method. Instead of contacting Delta to resolve its own issue, several staff members insisted we pay again with Visa or Mastercard. This happened the night before checkout, and we felt forced to comply to avoid being removed. We've visited Playa del Carmen every year for six years and never dealt with anything like this. This host shouldn't be allowed on Delta's platform. He doesn't manage the business responsibly, care about guests, or follow the booking platform's rules.

The roof has the best ocean view of the places we've stayed along the ocean, and the building is safe and central for restaurants, a pharmacy, the beach, the mall, and nightlife. The rooftop massage with an ocean view was five stars. Laura was amazing. The one-hour deep tissue massage was 1200 peso, $60 plus a $10 tip. Not cheap. The management policies are very restrictive, especially for long stays. Construction right in front of the building, diagonally to the right on the same street, ran every weekday for a full work shift from morning to late afternoon. The drilling and hammering could be a complete headache. Restaurant and club music played every night from 8pm until very late, around 3am-4 pm. The jacuzzi was cold and had no pressure. There was no shade by the pool, and a staff member pictured was rude and lazy. She refused to open the electronically operated umbrellas, saying it was too windy. If it really was, wouldn't the umbrella be flying? She preferred taking selfies, having drinks at the bar, and being on her cell phone. She was argumentative, disrespectful, angry, and rude. I can see why there were no foreigners staying here, only locals. You can't take glass plates or cups up to the rooftop pool, so there's no view from the unit, and access to the shaded rooftop ocean view is controlled by the bar, where you have to order to sit. There's no washer or dryer in the unit, and clothes can't be dried on the patio, so this place doesn't work for a long stay. There's no shoot either. You have to go down to the basement where the cars are parked to throw away trash. Singular Joy was the reason for a very sad vacation. I don't recommend it to anyone, and I wouldn't use Casago rental property on Airbnb.

Angel is my favorite part of the rooftop. She makes delicious homemade guacamole and mojitos for us every day. The rooftop pool and hot tub are great, with a nice view, and everything here is clean and well kept. The front desk guy is really nice and helpful too. It's easy to walk to everything, and we're loving our stay here. The only downside is that the music gets loud at night.

The rooftop pools and hot tub were our favorite part. The views were amazing, and the pool furniture was just right for a relaxing afternoon. Our room was very clean, updated, and comfortable, and we felt safe during our five days here. The front desk staff were welcoming and very nice. We'd definitely stay again if we came back.
