Viva Maya by Wyndham, A Trademark All Inclusive Resort

The people working here were so friendly. We especially enjoyed Jair from entertainment, Gustavo the bartender, and Antonio’s cheerful energy at the buffet restaurant. The beach was wonderful, though a cold front meant yellow and red flags the whole time we were there. The weather wasn’t very warm, but it was still good enough to enjoy ourselves. Rooms and facilities were well maintained. Our shower pressure was very low, the balcony was quite small, and Wi-Fi was spotty. I’d consider coming back because of the lovely staff.

The people working here put in so much effort, and I have a lot of respect and admiration for them. We had an unforgettable holiday. The sea was warm and clean, the nature was beautiful, and the location made it feel like paradise. The grounds are large and green, mostly very clean and well cared for. The food was delicious, the rooms were clean, and the staff were so friendly. It had everything we needed for comfort and fun. Thank you so much. The food was the weak spot for us. Buffet choices got repetitive, and some dishes disappointed; the à la carte restaurant didn’t feel much different, though we could always find something to eat. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. We really liked the beach, which was beautiful and clean, and the ocean was great. The grounds are nice and the atmosphere relaxed. It was a mixed stay, and improving the food would make a real difference.

The customer service was the worst part of our stay. One night my friend had a severe migraine and couldn’t come to dinner, so we asked to take a little bread and a couple of apples from the buffet for her in the room. Staff said we couldn’t take food out. There’s no room service, and when we asked how she was meant to eat, they basically said it wasn’t their problem. They also said they’d report to guest services that she was “sick,” which felt intrusive and unnecessary. That lack of compassion and flexibility changed how we felt about the resort. The location is beautiful, but the property is extremely small and felt limited in both amenities and atmosphere. There wasn’t much to do, and it didn’t feel like a full resort. Food was mediocre, neither awful nor memorable or high quality. The drinks were worse: whatever we ordered, they tasted artificial, overly sweet, like syrup and aspartame. I wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone expecting good service or hospitality.
