This was my fourth stay here. The building is gorgeous and everything is walkable: La Quinta is just steps away, with restaurants, bars, clubs, coffee shops, stores and street performers, and Chedraui, the best supermarket, is two blocks away. The beach is also two blocks away. There’s a lovely rooftop pool, jacuzzi and bar where you can enjoy a well-priced cocktail or beer with a view. It also has 24/7 concierge service and surveillance, night security, a private entrance and parking.

The security staff are the most delightful in all of Playa. Our unit faced outward, but we still heard no noise from 26th or the nearby restaurants, and we couldn’t be happier. The building is clean, well maintained, and smells good. The rooftop pool is very clean with a beautiful view. The gym is spacious, clean and well equipped, not one of those rusty, worn-out gyms. There’s paid laundry on site, and Oxxo and 7-Eleven are nearby for soap. There’s also a beautiful shared workspace. This is my new go-to building for future stays in Playa.

I rented from @volta_playadelcarmen, and it was worth every penny to make it here from Cancun. The hospitality and service impressed me. It’s a seven-story building with a rooftop pool, soft water, and amazing sunrise and sunset views!

The location is excellent, right next to 5th Avenue, and the rooftop pool has a beautiful view. But I’ve lived in this building for more than six months, and there have been frequent power outages as well as several times with no running water. You might get lucky during a short stay, but the water problem recurs, and you could be without it for a full day or longer. Coming back from the beach or sightseeing and finding not a drop from the tap is incredibly frustrating. I’ve been in Mexico for over five years and stayed in many places, but this is the only building where I’ve experienced the water being off for more than 24 hours. I hope it doesn’t happen to you. The underground parking is difficult to use and there aren’t enough spaces. I also see cockroaches almost every morning. I hardly cook, and I clean up right after eating, never leaving dirty dishes or food out, but lately I’ve been catching two to five roaches a day. I spray insecticide daily and have put down traps, but nothing helps. If you don’t want to deal with this, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
