The hotel itself is very nice and has lots of pools, but the sales experience left us exhausted and disappointed. At the airport, a representative said the Mexican government wanted visitors to support Mexican-owned hotels rather than American-owned ones, and offered free excursions and other benefits. It sounded simple at first, then turned into high-pressure selling. The next day we were collected from our hotel and taken to the resort. Nobody told us the process would take nearly all day. Travel took almost three hours, followed by hours of being passed between salespeople. Each time we declined, another person tried. We said repeatedly that we weren't interested and wanted to leave, but the pitches continued. On the way out, they even took us to a transportation room for another membership pitch. What we saw didn't match the promises. The beach was covered in sargassum during our visit, despite being described as clean and good for children. We enjoy Mexican food, but the meal was one of the most disappointing of our trip, despite claims it was among the best Mexican cuisine. The promised “free excursion” wasn't free either. We were told we'd only pay the ferry fee, then extra charges appeared. Our youngest child was charged, even though we'd been told children that age would be free. The whole thing felt misleading and designed to keep people in a sales process. Our kids were starving by the time we finally left, and had to wait about an hour for transpiration back to our hotel. Be very cautious if airport sellers promise free excursions, special offers or government-supported tourism. We regret losing a vacation day to this and would advise people to avoid the airport representatives and membership presentation.

The restaurants were a standout. Several meals felt restaurant quality, and the food selection was among the best we've had at an all-inclusive. Garza Blanca is clean and luxurious, with spacious modern rooms, beautiful ocean views and hardworking, friendly staff. We liked the pools and relaxed setting, which felt family-friendly without being too crowded. A few things kept it from being perfect. Evening entertainment and nightlife were limited, so it may not suit anyone looking for a lively party. During busy hours, finding pool chairs could be difficult, and service was inconsistent at times. Still, we had a really enjoyable stay and would recommend it for a relaxing upscale break with great scenery and food.

Best food of any vacation we've ever taken! The whole staff makes you feel at home. Armando ( Concierge) is the best, and it's always great to see him again. Alex at the pool has our spot ready, while Ricardo keeps the food and drinks on point. And the Water Aerobics Team brings fun energy. Did I mention the food?

DO NOT GO. We were invited to a timeshare presentation at the hotel's residence club and told it would last 90 minutes, with taxi rides to and from the resort included. This isn't about being opposed to timeshares; the staff didn't respect our time, weren't transparent and didn't keep their promises. After our taxi ride, we waited about 20 minutes for check-in. A staff member asked for our passport and credit card details, which we refused to give. We asked when the 90-minute presentation would start and were told only once someone came to collect us. That already felt misleading. The presentation was underwhelming, and the promised breakfast turned out to be a snack bar. The food didn't look appetizing, so we just had fruit plates. Compared with AVA Resort, this property felt like a significant downgrade. We clearly said we needed to leave around the 100-minute mark, but it dragged on for nearly two hours. We were passed between a manager, referral specialist and quality control representative, each repeating the same pressure tactics. Afterward, Tafer Hotels staff directed us to the gift area and said we'd wait about 20 minutes for a shuttle. We'd been promised taxis both ways, but they tried to put us on a shared shuttle with stops at several hotels. After nearly three hours there, we repeatedly asked for the promised taxi and were refused. The shuttle never showed, so we paid for an Uber ourselves. I went from not knowing the brand to actively avoiding it. Based on this, I don't trust them and found the service extremely poor. I expect hotel management to say this has nothing to do with the hotel, but it does: the hotel allows this group to work there, and the sales are FOR the hotel. Avoid this brand if you can.

The tour at Garza Blanca was one of the best decisions of our vacation. My wife and I were staying at another resort in Cancun when we were invited to visit. Ruben Escamilla gave us the tour and treated us like royalty. We had breakfast together and chatted as though we'd known each other forever. The property was immaculate, from the atmosphere and decor to the way it smelled, and the staff were the most sincere and accommodating VIP hosts we've encountered. We were so impressed that we agreed to switch resorts and become lifetime members. It made sense financially and emotionally, and the memories from our short time there still make it feel like a great decision. We're grateful to Ruben Escamilla, Diego Primo and the rest of the Garza Blanca staff/family. They knocked it out of the park. I'd highly recommend experiencing it.
