The beach and pool are nice, but our penthouse stay was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had. The listing was misleading, basic amenities were missing, and customer care was poor. When we checked in, a staff member did say the penthouse had no direct sea view except from the shared patio. They didn’t tell us that there was essentially no outside view at all. All three living room windows are blocked by concrete walls from a newer, taller building that went up just weeks ago. Construction is ongoing and expected to continue for another year or more, with wall banging early in the morning. The “penthouse” felt more like a basement on a rooftop. Rain also came in through the only two windows that actually face outside. Other problems piled up: there was no toilet paper when we arrived, the shower had no water pressure, and our group of five had just one key. The couches were old and uncomfortable. The air conditioning blew straight onto the beds, making it hard to sleep with it on. There was no phone in the room to call reception, the Wi-Fi didn’t reach the bedroom, and the unit is on the fourth floor with no elevator. I lost the key card at one point, and they told me it would cost 350 Mexican pesos to replace. The fee itself wasn’t the real issue. It was the general lack of flexibility and willingness to help during our stay. When I brought up the problems at the front desk and asked to speak with the manager, I was told he wasn’t available. Staff didn’t acknowledge the issues or apologize for the inconvenience. They seemed more focused on ensuring I paid for the last day. They even gave me a letter saying I had to pay by the end of the day or leave. Before booking the penthouse, be aware that its windows face concrete walls, there’s no elevator to the fourth floor, and water pressure is poor. Wi-Fi is weak in the bedroom, and you may want to bring essentials like toilet paper and dish soap. The beachfront location and pool are pleasant, but know what you’re booking.

It’s in an ideal spot on the Malecon, with friendly bilingual service and a fully equipped apartment. It’s pricey, but good value.

It feels like they still operate as if it were 1995. When we arrived, the staff seemed bothered to see us. We asked to look at the room before paying, even though its door was just five feet away, and they refused. The mattresses had awful springs. We lost the one room card they gave us and were charged 250 pesos. The front desk woman was asleep with her head on the desk in the middle of the day. It’s a third-world hotel. I’m sure there are much better ones.

It’s a basic place to sleep in a great location, but the terrible water pressure makes showering a challenge. The facilities could use an upgrade, and customer service needs training.

We had a suite with a table, fridge, and sink, plus most of the basics. The patios had spectacular views, and everything was spotless, even though there was visible wear throughout. Since this was our first trip to Mexico, I can’t really compare it with US hotels, so this is just what we found as tourists. There’s no elevator, and we didn’t see washcloths or dish towels. The bedroom fan had only one setting, way too fast to use, and there was just one outlet between the beds. The front desk wasn’t as friendly as the place we stayed in Merida, but Google Translate helped us get things sorted. It was okay overall, and the location, cleanliness, and price made up for the drawbacks.
