If you’re after a modern hotel, this probably isn’t the place. It’s an old colonial home, full of history and soul, and makes for a magical Puebla experience. The service was warm and lovely, and the location is perfect. The place itself feels like a work of art. Get the huge room at the front, it’s amazing.

After our problems were addressed, we got great service and spent our last three nights upstairs in a gorgeous room, with lovely decor, linens, and products. Those upper-floor rooms are completely different, so make sure you stay there. Before that, I was very unhappy with our room. There was no window or ventilation, it smelled of mold, and the employee refused to move us. I complained, but nothing was done at first. A room like that would be illegal in Canada. We were extremely disappointed and would never choose this hotel again.

Libereria Ghandi, a great Italian restaurant inside an old book store, is only about 50 m from the hotel. As for the hotel, it’s a magical Art Nouveau jewel in the centre of Puebla. The taste and style are impeccable, and every detail fits. A real gem!

The location makes it easy to get around the city center and nearby sights, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always happy to help with questions or requests. The hotel’s 16th-century design has been adapted beautifully for modern needs. We’d definitely choose it again next time we visit Puebla.
