Hotel Del Centro

It gets the job done, but there was no hot water and the blankets weren't enough to keep me properly warm. The receptionist also wouldn't let me see the room before I checked in.

The location is okay, close to the Zócalo, and the hotel has its own parking. There isn't much traffic around. The clerk was super nice, though the service is just what you'd expect in Mexico. The rooms are roomy, but the bed needs replacing. Fine for one night. Envoy Puebla Mexico is a nice place to visit.

The only real upside is that it's cheap and close to downtown. The rooms are decent and the bathroom seems clean, but there are no soap holders and the shower curtain doesn't work, so the floor gets slippery. There's nowhere to hang clothes either, leaving the toilet top or seat as your best option. You have to ask for towels. They're small, don't absorb well, and look like painters' spill rags. They give you one roll of toilet paper per room, and it's the cheap kind that feels like sandpaper or tears on you. The windows have no screens, so with one open while you sleep, rats, cockroaches, or other critters could get in. The setup is poorly thought out, and you can see into other bathrooms if someone forgets to close the window. Maybe that was planned, lol. Maybe the staff were having a bad day, or maybe they just suck, but everyone seemed unfriendly.

The central spot and good Wi-Fi were positives, but there are better prices elsewhere in town. The room smelled bad, and the night was extremely noisy.
