Hotel Panamerican

The hotel has a pool, a small garden, and plenty of parking, with rooms ranging from small to medium. It’s close to Puebla nightlife, including clubs and bars, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re a light sleeper because it gets pretty noisy. The restaurant food was so-so and the service slow. Wi-Fi coverage wasn’t available in every room. In our experience, rooms 41XX only got a connection for short periods, while coverage in the other rooms was good enough.

The location near the city centre is good, and the price is reasonable. Inside, the rooms are small and noisy, and the pipes made awful sounds whenever water was discharged. Staff were insolent and treated us badly. They also demanded an extra deposit for the TV remote. The cable service had very few channels, the WiFi was lousy, and mobile phone reception cut out in the rooms.

It feels like a hostel. I can hear the neighbours using the tap and flushing as if they were in our bathroom. It’s nearly midnight, and they’re playing music and talking right outside our door, but nobody from the hotel has said anything. I can’t call reception because they don’t speak English.

The rooms are a bit small, but fine, and the historical center is about a 20 minute walk away. We asked to change rooms, and they left us waiting in the lobby for two hours before one was available. The receptionist wasn’t kind to us, and the key cards also stopped working twice for no reason. Customer service needs improvement.
