The rooftop terraza at Hotel Tamara is a favorite of mine for drinks, watching the moon come up, and looking out over the centro historico buildings. I fell in love with the place for that and for everything else about the hotel. I spent a couple of years trying out hotels for two nights at a time, mainly to compare how comfortable the beds were. In Mexico, I found that hotels at all price levels often use harder mattresses because they last longer. I'm sensitive to firm beds, and Tamara's are too hard for my taste. I love the rest of the hotel, but I'd choose somewhere else for a bed that suits me better. If firm beds aren't a concern for you, I highly recommend Tamara.

We were traveling from Playa del Carmen to Monterrey and planned to rest in Puebla. Beforehand, we called for a quote and were given one price by (Leslie), but when we arrived the cost was $700 more. They also charged $350 extra for each of our children, who are 5 and 8. Since it was already 11 pm, we had no choice but to get the kids to bed quickly. I raised the issue with the front desk in the morning, but they said there was nothing they could do because the woman who checked us in was no longer there.
