My letter about my stay: “Please confirm in writing that my credit card will not be charged. I paid in cash, as requested, and have the receipt. I booked a room at Puebla Inn Express through Booking.com more than 20 days in advance, and confirmed it with the front desk two weeks before the stay when my coworker and I were in town on business for five days. I canceled through the app, as requested, and also confirmed the cancellation with the front desk and received confirmation. The price was confirmed in the app, by email from you and the app, and in person at reception. I’m a professional billiards/pool player and travel the world, spending a lot of time in motels. I’m a loyal customer and return to places I trust, and recommend good experiences to other professionals. This seven-day booking was for ‘They Latin Pool Pro Invitational Tournament’ in PUEBLA MX, the largest professional pool tournament Mexico has ever had, running from the 26th to the 29th. There will be 264 players traveling from all around the world, along with media from Mexico and elsewhere. More than 1,000,000 people will be watching through social media, livestreams, and live television broadcasts. For me, and I assume for any business and source of income, we plan our rooms well in advance. We can’t make mistakes or we lose money. This has let me down, and I’m upset that I now have to spend an unknown amount of time sorting out arrangements when I have absolutely no time. I’ll be working every minute for the next seven days. I’m paid through sponsorships and employment, and all my money is committed before each event. I travel all the time and use apps like Booking.com because they’re useful, and I get discounts the more I use them. I don’t think you should add a 23% fee because I used an app to book a room, especially after the price was confirmed in the app, in email from you and the app, and in person with the front desk.
