Hotel San Angel Puebla

You get what you pay for. The location was good, but the room was dirty, the towels were extremely old, and the couch was ripped. There were no pillow covers. My family dropped us off, but they weren’t even allowed to walk us up to the room.

The rooms were quite spacious, and the location near the Zócalo was great. The cleaning staff were very friendly, and the guy at night reception was really helpful and spoke great English. The woman at reception in the morning was rude. It was also noisy: there’s a sign saying to keep quiet after 9pm, yet the hotel was playing music well after 10pm. That doesn’t seem right.

The rooms were clean, though on the small side, and the price was about what you'd expect for what you get. My main problems were that the shower pressure was weak, the rate changed when I got to reception after booking through a third party, and I had to leave my car at another hotel about four blocks away.

The staff were helpful and kind, and the room was a good value even though it wasn't very large. I liked the quaint, very Spanish feel. Noise was the downside: sound carries in from the lobby because of the room layout, and when it rains, it's unbelievably loud.
