Sleep Inn Puebla Centro Histórico

We’ve been Choice Hotel members for six years and have stayed at more than 100 of them, mostly in the USA. This Sleep Inn ranks among our top five. We’re three days into the stay, and everything has been wonderful since Lucero welcomed us at reception. Don Beto looks after our car in the garage and helped us get to the room. The room itself is great, with hot water, a comfortable bed, coffee maker, cable TV, good internet, a large bathroom, a closet, and a safe. Housekeeping has been fantastic too. The full breakfast is excellent and looks just like the picture here, and Pablo and Emanuel give great service in the restaurant. Mayte on night reception is very professional. We wish Choice Hotels in the USA could come to Puebla and see how to run one properly. The owners should be proud.

For walking around the historic center, you can’t beat the location. The hotel is basic, with fairly updated facilities, but the beds are HARD. Seriously, like sleeping on concrete. There’s no AC, and if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the street because it can get incredibly loud.

I’ll be back. The hotel is convenient for Centro, with secure parking and attentive, responsive staff. The bed was comfortable, the hot water and pressure were great, and housekeeping was excellent. Felt like a five-star property at a four-star price.

This is a review of the King bedroom. The room was spacious, the water pressure was good, and the location worked well, about 10-15 minutes from the Zócalo. Checkout is at 13:00, staff speak English, and there’s a safe in the room. We got one breakfast free, but not the second; the breakfast itself was nothing special. We also received a voucher for a cocktail or shot, but the bar was closed on Sunday so we couldn’t use it. The bed was awful. There’s a plastic layer between the mattress and cover, so it felt and sounded like sleeping on a mattress still in its packaging. We barely dared move in case we woke each other. The cover and plastic layer were too small and came loose during the night, leaving us on the uncovered mattress for part of it. We also found hairs on the bed. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly. If we pushed it shut, it screeched across the floor with a horrible, bone-crunching sound, so we left it open.
