Hotel Maya 2012

The accommodations and hotel seemed “fine” at first, but the bathroom didn't work and there was no hot water. The doors don't close right, either. Outside the rooms, parakeets are constantly squawking, and when you tell the staff there's no water, they say they don't know.

The air conditioning worked perfectly, the bathroom was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Excellent, 100% recommended.

The owners are incredibly friendly and do everything they can for you. Still, it would help to know in advance that there’s no drinking water, hot water, or food on site, and that you can’t get anything without a car.

At first, Hotel Maya seemed clean and quiet, and everything looked fine. Then, as we were getting into bed, we found ants all over the sheets and blanket. I asked for a change and they politely replaced them without asking anything further. Later, people outside were drinking and making so much noise we couldn't sleep. I assumed they'd quiet down soon, but at 2 AM I went looking for the manager because it was getting really annoying. He was out there drinking with them. I asked him to lower the noise and he said he would, but nothing changed. They kept going until about 5 AM, and we never got any sleep. Even the simplest place has rules. When I was leaving the next day, the manager came out and said, “I apologize, but you know how we drunks are.” I was speechless. It left me with a terrible impression. I'll never come back or recommend the place. Terrible service.
