The friendly, helpful staff were a highlight, but the resort itself didn’t live up to the five-star rating or the promotional photos. It felt old and dated, with maintenance that didn’t seem to be a priority. About half the restaurants were closed each night, limiting our choices and making it hard to try everything advertised. The “private” beach was covered in seaweed while we were there, so we enjoyed it less. Our room only had beer in the fridge, with no liquor bottles, unlike other all-inclusive resorts I’ve stayed at. The drinks at the bars also seemed very watered down. The resort promotes a “premium” side, but it looked like everyone could use those areas, so the upgrade felt misleading. The staff were very kind and accommodating, but there were several disappointments.

We’d read a lot of negative reviews, but didn’t experience any of that. It was well worth the money, and we’ll definitely be back. Our swim-out room was lovely on hot days, the AC cooled it nicely, and the room was clean, with a big shower. Housekeeping and ordering through the Hyatt app both worked smoothly. The staff were friendly across the resort, and there was always a cool ocean breeze. The buffet was nothing special, but good for a quick bite. The restaurants were amazing, and I had the best rib eye steak ever. The beach was good too, with hard sand that made walking easy. We enjoyed our stay.

The spa was a highlight. The hydrotherapy and couples massage were both wonderful, and the peaceful setting was a lovely way to unwind after the wedding. The professional staff made it feel luxurious and rejuvenating. We spent two wonderful weeks at Dreams Aventuras for our wedding, and the team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Fernanda, our wedding coordinator, was fantastic: professional, organized, attentive to every detail, and made sure the day ran smoothly from start to finish. We could relax and enjoy the celebration. The resort was exceptionally clean and well maintained, the food was very good with plenty of variety, and everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and genuinely committed to excellent service. Our wedding exceeded expectations and the stay gave us memories that will last a lifetime. We’d highly recommend the resort for a destination wedding or a relaxing vacation. Thank you to the whole team for making it so special!

The gated community was a real plus. We loved wandering the marina, checking out local restaurants and shops, and watching the dolphins. It’s a small resort, so getting around is easy. The Preferred areas and perks were nice, though I’m not sure they’re worth the extra $900+ CAD. There isn’t much of a beach: the one there is artificial and on a lagoon. You won’t find soft white Caribbean sand here or nearby. The resort is older and shows some wear in places like the Core Zone (kids’ club), theater, sports bar/club, and elsewhere, but it does well for its price range. I was on the first floor on the pool/ocean side, and weddings almost every evening made it exceptionally noisy at night. The AC barely covered the noise, though it usually quieted down around 11 p.m. Staff were out early in the morning, and the clanging carts in the hallways often had me awake by 6AM. At least that was usually when I knew to go find a few beach chairs. There were a lot of little kids, babies, toddlers, and children under eight. I was traveling with my nephews, so expected some, but there were so many that it was harder to relax or enjoy the pool at times. You could choose an adults-only resort, of course. I’ve been to many all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and Punta Cana (DR), and this was by far the most kid-heavy one I’ve experienced. The staff were exceptionally polite, warm, accommodating, and genuinely eager to make guests happy. I’m a little confused by the poor reviews. The rooms were very nice, with good amenities, a quality bed and shower, and good cleanliness. My minibar was restocked regularly. There was just one day my room wasn’t cleaned; otherwise, it was spotless, with neatly folded bedding and replenished toiletries and towels. The food was good overall. The Italian and steak restaurants exceeded expectations for both food and service, and the Asian fusion restaurant was excellent. The Mexican restaurant had just changed its menu, so our server was understandably a bit confused. Service was slow and the food wasn’t great, though the staff’s effort helped us overlook that meal. The special dinners in the Preferred area and daytime meals at Oceania were very nice. On our fifth day, I came down with a pretty bad case of food poisoning. It may have been the pork wrap from the beach grill or the hot buffet in the Preferred Lounge. I’m an adventurous eater, including ceviche and seafood, so I partly blame myself, but we didn’t eat off-resort. For service, location, size, and amenities, I’d rate this a solid 4/5. It’s not the Majestic, folks, but I found the rooms and overall experience very good.

The people were wonderful, and it was nice to see family groups at this kid-friendly resort. Still, we won’t be back. The property could use a massive overhaul. Food was a struggle. A lot of it was bland and overcooked, and with many restaurants closed we faced long waits. The Barracuda bar with swings was lovely, though, and probably had the best margarita in the whole resort. Our room was decent but very dated. The bed was comfy and housekeeping came daily, but the shower never drained properly, so standing in water while showering felt awful. There was also a massive leak with water everywhere on the first level near our room. We were in Preferred on the first level, where noise was an issue. Music played all night and started up early, so bring earplugs. We liked the Preferred pool and the reading material. Some Preferred “coupons” turned out to require buying very expensive wine to use. We used some at the spa, and the massage and facial were very nice.
