I liked it enough to extend my stay. The hostel is clean, with daily cleaning, and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The volunteers and staff made everyone feel welcome. There's a coffee spot at the front open in the mornings, with tasty food and coffee. In the evenings the bar opens and activities run, though the place generally stays calm. Wednesday's Bachata class had a great vibe. It's well located, a short walk from the beach, with a small supermarket nearby. 100% recommend!

Don't get your laundry done here. It costs more than anywhere else, and after they kept my clothes for two whole days, they still hadn't even started washing them. Now I'm leaving for somewhere I can't do laundry, with all my clothes still as dirty as the inside of their building.

It felt like a student apartment share, and it was very dirty. The fridge had rust and mold, and while I was there, the showers were clogged with soapy water just sitting in them. That put me right off. The location is pretty good, with easy beach access, and everyone was laid-back and nice. A younger crowd.

It’s a short walk to the beach and some incredible restaurants, and the location couldn’t be better. I love that this hostel is small but still social. The intimate feel makes it easy to meet people, make plans, and spend time together. Such a great atmosphere.

I had the best time at la palmera and made some of my closest friends in Mexico, both Mexican and from around the world. A group of friends runs the hostel and puts their heart into it every day. They come by for a few hours to spend time with guests and make their stays richer. There's a free weekly bachata class taught by Miguel, a professional teacher who's also the hostel owner.
