The location was handy, on a quiet street within walking distance of the beach and some nice local restaurants. The air conditioning worked well and the WiFi was fast. We paid extra to move to the king room, which was a lot cleaner, though even there the towels were still questionable. Our first room was a different story. There was hair on the floor, a frog in the shower, and the towels were so stained with dirt and bleach that I was shocked they were given to guests. The sheets were discolored too, though they smelled clean. Our friend in another room had the same problems, including hair on the sheets, and had to ask for fresh sheets and towels.

The room itself was clean, but a terrible bathroom smell spread into it. The property is down a sketchy road, and there isn't much safe parking on the street. We asked to leave our bags at reception for a few hours before our flight and were told there'd be a fee. In over a year of traveling, we'd never run into that before. A different hostel we'd never stayed at let us keep our bags in its luggage room for free while we had lunch. The receptionist spent 20 minutes trying to work out the fee and called his boss several times. We only got an answer at 11:10, then he came banging on our door to say checkout was at 11. That delay was on their end. My husband had a broken ankle, so I was packing and moving everything alone, and the receptionist showed no understanding.

The room had all the useful little touches for a longer stay, like rugs, art, end tables, a full-length mirror, and closet storage. AC, internet, hot water, and the kitchen all worked well, and Alan and the staff were really kind. Great value for money. Check-in was a bit tricky, so make sure you have Alan’s phone number before you get there.

We only stayed one night while passing through PE, and it was a great fit. The linen was clean, the air conditioning got really cold, and we had everything we needed. Very happy with the stay, especially for the price. Gracias.
