Pantai H

We planned on just a few days and somehow stayed for three weeks. It felt like home, and Carlos was always smiling, attentive, and ready to help with whatever we needed. The place is spacious and very clean, with hot water in the shower and air conditioning. It had everything we needed in Puerto Escondido. Highly recommend, and I'm sure we'll return someday!

Carlos is a friendly manager, the location is good, and the pool is a nice extra. But the place feels neglected and could be cleaned better. Our room was only so-so, the floors were dirty, the kitchen smelled moldy, and the bins weren't cleaned during our three nights. Outside, there were loud tennis practices from 7 in the morning, plus roosters, barking dogs, and construction nearby. The usual Mexico noises, maybe, but still a nuisance.

We chose Pantai H after seeing its great Google reviews, but decided not to stay. The rooms are basic, and having no door on the toilet in the room was a deal breaker for us. The ground floor rooms are right beside a shared area, with very little privacy. They might need proper blackout curtains, too, and the outdoor area could use some care and an upgrade. The host replied quickly on WhatsApp. We had booked a flexible refundable rate, so we only had to pay the first night at the full price.

The place has a homey, friend's-house feel, and the other guests were friendly and respectful. My mom and I loved staying at Pantai H. Carlos and his wife Saymar are such a warm, lovely couple. It's peaceful, just a five-minute walk from the beach and restaurants, with some distance from the noise. I'd happily recommend it and will definitely come back next time I'm in Puerto.
