Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort & Spa

The Italian restaurant and the teppanyaki table with Eduardo were our food favorites. The made-to-order personal-sized pizzas during the day were so good too. Everything we ate was delicious. The resort and rooms were clean, and the staff were kind and attentive. There were lots of fun options from games and trivia at the main pool for both adults and kids to a charcuterie board making class we joined during our stay. The beach was the one drawback, though it wasn’t a dealbreaker for us since we’re more pool people. Just got back from a great stay!

The biggest perk for us was Cindy, our Preferred butler. She kept me informed and handled every request so well. I didn’t expect that kind of personal service and loved it. We were glad to have Preferred status, especially for the à la carte breakfast. Our large room had a great view and was central to most amenities. We also liked the resort’s modest size, which made it easy for the kids to run around on their own. There were tons of activities and the entertainment was enjoyable. A big shoutout to the kids club team, Abril, Emi, Danna, and Zuri. The kids loved that many activities took place around the resort rather than right at the club, since they felt too old to hang out there. One of the larger pools was closed the entire stay. It didn’t affect us much, but probably made the main pool busier. You have to be up very early to get chairs. Don’t expect much from the beach. We still found shells and played in the shallows, but it felt more like a feature of the resort than a useful beach. My main complaint was a private function one evening. The music was insanely loud in our room until 11 p.m. I asked to speak with a manager, but nobody followed up. If you have kids who need an early bedtime and there’s an event in your building area, be prepared for noise. The response I got to this review was meant for someone else. I didn’t have a delay in service.

We had a good time, though I’d choose a different resort next time. The rooms were spacious and had a hot tub. Food was average overall, with some really great meals at the Italian and Steakhouse restaurants and very ordinary options at the buffet. We really enjoyed getting good coffee at the café in the morning. The waterslides were fun and well staffed. There’s no bar at the adults’ pool, but David did a great job keeping the drinks coming all day. If you’re a beach person, this isn’t the place for you since there’s really no beachfront. Getting a pool chair was almost impossible unless you had one by 6 a.m. We saw more than one argument over people reserving chairs and not using them. The drinks could also have been more consistent from one bartender to another.

The kids’ programs were endless and great, and our three children under 6 had an amazing time. They especially loved the crafts every day. Thanks to Abril, Emily, Zuri, and Danna for running such a good kids club. The nightly shows were wonderful, the food was good, and the staff were very nice. We would have liked a chance for the kids to play air hockey or pool in the sports bar. That room is set aside for teens during the day and adults in the evening. My four-year-old son really wanted to try air hockey, so we asked if we could use the space when it sat empty for most of the day, but they turned us away. It would’ve been nice to let younger kids use the games too. A lovely resort and a wonderful family vacation.
