We enjoyed the pools, and the beach was nice for a walk. They’re working hard against the seaweed, but that’s an issue throughout the area. For lunch, Delores market was a fantastic buffet, and aakat was just right for a sit-down meal. The à la carte restaurants were all pretty good. Our favorite was the French restaurant, including for breakfast. The food overall was pretty good.

Our anniversary trip at Ventus Ha left us feeling unwelcome, and I can’t recommend booking here. We planned and communicated our needs well ahead, but when problems came up, we felt ignored. This was our once-a-year trip and fell far short of what we expected from a luxury adults-focused resort. Weeks before arriving, I asked for a quiet room and mentioned the special occasion. I’d also booked the French restaurant in advance based on reviews. Despite that, we were put beside a very loud group and barely slept for two nights. The front desk offered a room with double beds or a move the next day. Neither worked well, given our earlier request and the hassle of packing mid-trip. I asked for an upgrade for the remaining two nights and got no response. We were charged for late checkout, with no effort to make the stay more comfortable. The way staff handled our complaint upset me most. As I calmly raised the noise issue, they spoke to each other in Spanish, exchanged looks, and laughed. I felt dismissed and disrespected. It was noticeable and below the professionalism I’d expect at a five-star resort. Then we had no French restaurant reservation on our anniversary, despite confirming it with the concierge at check-in. Our Italian restaurant reservation was also canceled without explanation. It gave us the strong impression that our dining plans were affected after we complained. Whether or not that was intentional, it felt like punishment for speaking up. We were courteous throughout and continued tipping staff, expecting respect and professionalism in return. The food and many service staff were excellent, but the response to our concerns ruined the trip. I’m writing this seriously: when something goes wrong, you may not be heard or accommodated, and I wouldn’t take that risk again.

The staff were lovely, especially Jose at the Waves bar in the Ventus Ha lobby, who made the best drinks across the hotels, and Cesar at the pool bar, who gave us outstanding service. We had a beautiful long weekend for my partner’s birthday, and the trip exceeded our expectations. The Valentine’s Day party at the Na’Ha rooftop bar made the weekend feel special. Ventus Ha felt the most modern and polished of the three hotels in the El Cid complex, and we were happy with our choice. The room was gorgeous and had everything we needed. The whole property is expansive, beautiful, and well maintained, with thoughtful layout and bathrooms, towel stations, and bars easy to find wherever you are. One thing to keep in mind: although Ventus Ha itself is adults-only, families use the pools and hot tubs during the day, so it can get noisy. It may not suit someone wanting a truly adults-only atmosphere. You can book one dinner before arrival. We went straight to the Ventus Ha concierge to arrange the other nights and were told all eight restaurants were full the next night. They weren’t much help with alternatives, but the concierge team at Ventus across the street were lovely and found us a spot when another guest canceled. For our third night, the only dinner time offered was 9:30. That was fine for us, though I understand it may not work for everyone. The food was very good overall. Lunch choices were limited and the buffet items felt a bit random, but breakfast and dinner made up for it. We can’t wait to come back to Cancun.

This was my second stay at Ventus Ha, and after two full weeks I’m already thinking about going back. The resort is beautiful and very modern, especially the brand-new area they opened with a rooftop pool. The staff there and throughout the resort gave excellent service and were courteous and friendly. There was always something to do, from enjoying the many pools or walking along the beach to events like feria del taco, which was lovely. The restaurant food was delicious, with vegetarian and vegan options. I highly recommend it.

For anyone who mainly wants pool time, this place could work well. We stayed 12 days and loved the food and service. Gus at reception and Grisel in the spa stood out, though all the staff were wonderful. We also loved the marina dive shop, Aquanotes Diving Adventures. We did six incredible dives with them, and they offer excursions beyond diving too. The beach was the reason we wouldn’t return. Large sandbags or logs have been placed by the shore, presumably to hold back Sargassum seaweed, but the seaweed collects in pools and rots there. The bags stink too. I think removing them would be better. Cleaners work on the seaweed every day, but the pooling leaves the water murky with scum, and it looks putrid. I paddled beyond the bags, where the water was lovely, but getting through that unpleasant water near shore was miserable. If you love the beach and ocean, beware.
