Villas Kaàn

It was wonderfully quiet, with a great sea view, and two pools. The house looked just like the pictures, tucked among palm trees, and the kitchen had everything we needed. A lovely spot for a few days of relaxing. Getting there is the main hassle. Like other comments mentioned, the road is in very bad shape. Our rental car made it, but the drive takes about 15 minutes after leaving the main road. Our room was on the top floor, with lots of windows that brought in sunlight, but there were no curtains, so people outside could see in. You also can't swim in the sea directly in front, since there are rocks where you enter and no sand.

Michael, who lives on the property, made our one-night stay unforgettable. We hadn't realized you need a rental car to reach the place, so we called him. He came to get us at the airport, drove us to pick up burgers, took us back to Villas Kaán, then gave us another ride into town the next day. I can't say he'd do that for everyone, but he made a huge difference for us. We'll always remember him. The condos are great for a trip with friends or couples. There's a large shared kitchen, two pools, and views of the sea. Next time, we'd come for a week with a few couples and reserve several rooms. The rooms are simply furnished, so bring your own coffee and groceries. It has more of a stay-at-home feel than a going-out vibe, so bring the comforts of home. I highly recommend it!

Michael was so friendly and funny, and helped us with all our questions. We had a great time at Villas Kaan. The house was very clean, and our room had loads of space. I'd definitely recommend walking along the beach to Puerto Morelos.

At the price we paid, I expected the room to match the photos and have working air conditioning. The unit was much more run down than the pictures showed, so they should be updated. We were asked not to turn on the A/C until evening, but when I tried it then, it didn't work. I spent an hour looking up how to use the remote to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong. It was still a good place, just not worth what we paid for one night.
