Hotel Lluvia del Mar

The food was excellent, but getting it was a struggle. Our waitress kept forgetting things, and we had to ask for several items again and again. They need more waitresses, or a manager should have other staff pitch in when they're free.

The price was very affordable, and everything felt fresh and comfortable. The room had tall ceilings, white walls, a firm roomy bed with clean sheets, and a heating unit that kept us warm. The restroom was lovely too. I loved staying here and plan to come back, and send family and friends.

We won't be staying here again. One room's lock stopped working at 11 p.m. after a long day, and we were stuck outside for an hour. Even the maintenance guy struggled to open it. With four little kids, that was incredibly frustrating. This was especially disappointing after staying here on every trip to Puerto Peñasco over the past 11 years. On this 4th of July weekend in 2023, all 14 of us in the family agreed the beds were painful and the pillows had become really flat. The breakfast place has gone downhill too. We used to love the coffee, but now it's like gas station coffee, and the food is just okay, nowhere near as enjoyable as before. Next time we'll stay at one of the hotels right in front of the beach. I'm giving it two stars because the place is still clean.

The only reason I gave it three stars is that the pool is nice and clean. The rooms don't look like the photos, and for how old they are, the price doesn't feel right. We'd use this as a last resort.
