My wife and I spent a wonderful month in the Azul suite at Casa Bella Vista. We loved the balcony view of the sea and the sunset each evening, and the cross breeze meant we never needed the AC. The suite had enough space for us, and the safe and separate distilled-water tap were handy. Casa Bella Vista is in Centro, close to the Malecon and beach, but in a quiet local neighborhood away from the tourist areas. Restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, and bus stops are nearby, and Romantica and 5 de Diciembre are within walking distance. One thing to know: the property sits on a hill, with lots of stairs up to the third floor. It wouldn't suit someone who has trouble walking or isn't physically fit, though my wife and I, both in our mid 70s, managed fine. The owner, Gia, and property manager, Diana, were friendly and quick to respond. I'd gladly recommend Casa Bella Vista for short or long stays.

We loved cooling off with an afternoon swim in the warm terrace pool after wandering around the neighborhood. This traditional-style suite, with its doors and windows and bay-view balcony, made a lovely base in Puerto Vallarta’s Centro. Small restaurants and tiendas are a short walk away, as is the Malecon; the Romantic zone is farther, but still a very doable walk.
Those sunsets from the private balcony were breathtaking, and the views were spectacular. I loved the authentic Mexican feel of the centrally located accommodations. The concierge welcomed us and helped carry our luggage, and the stairs were well worth it. We could walk to plenty of great restaurants and the best yoga studio in Puerto Vallarta. The comfy king-size bed was a pleasure at the end of the day, and the kitchenette had lovely granite counters and everything we needed. Looking forward to coming back!
Getting up the hill was a workout. The house is in a mountain area, in a neighborhood called Cerro. Going down took about eight minutes, but climbing back up took maybe 30, with breaks and plenty of water. It was challenging, though manageable. Inside, I felt at home. The kitchen had all the pots, pans, and cutlery I needed, and the living room was a relaxing place to watch my shows on the smart TV. The internet was excellent, the bedroom was comfortable, and the balcony had the best view I've had in Puerto Vallarta. I especially liked the pool, about 5 feet 7 inches deep, for a relaxing swim after 5 PM while watching the sunset. Everything was well organized, from clear arrival instructions to the staff's attention to detail, including the cleaning personnel. Checkout was smooth too. Thanks to Casa Bella Vista for the hospitality.
We spent most of our 10 days working from the Cielo Terrace because the view was so incredible. We were in the Rojo Suite, with access to that terrace and the Aqua pool area. The hosts were extremely accommodating, and the property management team kept the Casa in mint condition. The suite had a king-size bed and a kitchenette equipped with the basics. We just got back to Canada after a great stay at Casa Bella Vista in Puerto Vallarta. Be ready to get fit and rack up the steps!
