We wanted somewhere cozy in nature for a rainy-season anniversary break, and the bungalow was just right. My boyfriend and I mostly lounged on the outdoor couch or in the hammock with wine and snacks, listening to the rain and the river. We did get out for a bit of exploring and a hike along the river too. The indoor and outdoor spaces feel thoughtfully put together, with nice extras like books, games, and yoga mats. The washer and dryer were especially appreciated after we arrived soaked in a heavy rainstorm. Nick and Cherry were so sweet. We had a delicious cappuccino and a nice chat with them, and we’ll be back soon!

Casa Periquitos, the upstairs apartment #3, was very clean and had everything we needed. It’s quiet at night, in a safe area close to Boca, and our hosts were polite and quick to respond. The balcony has a really nice view of the river. We highly recommend Pulpo Loco across the river. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the service was great.

The room could use a refresh. It feels a little dated, and some colourful paint would help. The space outside the room was great, though.

We felt at home, almost like staying at a friend’s house. It’s a cozy little village with great hosts, and the casa has a lovely botanical-garden feel throughout. Everything we needed was just a 3-5 minute walk away. The small shops dotted around had all the basics for a relaxed stay. We enjoyed our time indoors, wandering around the village, hiking along the shore, and going farther afield by boat or bus. Very reasonably priced, too.

The landlords were the best, and this is such a peaceful jungle retreat. You can start a barefoot bike ride right outside your door, following the river through the jungle to the sea. Find the waterfalls and connect 🥰❤️
