We spent hours on the rooftop by the pool, eating fresh fruit and taking in the ocean view. The place is quiet, clean, and close enough to the beach, shops, and restaurants. It’s full of plants and beautifully decorated, a hidden gem in Puerto Vallarta with spectacular views and a wonderful staff. My husband and I loved it, and once you arrive, you won’t want to leave. We’ll definitely stay again. Thanks, Maria, for the recommendation xoxo

The service had us won over before we’d even seen the views. Casa de Chayo is amazing, and I’m sharing our little secret because a place this good deserves to stay open. The hospitality feels like white glove service from a cruise ship years ago, and we felt truly pampered. If Michelin ever mapped out hospitality, Uber would take you straight to this door. Don’t let the lack of reviews put you off. This is a peaceful, classy spot, and the building has lots of quiet public spaces. It could be a good place to recharge or write. Our room had a kitchenette, and there’s a BBQ on the terrace. The “Continental” breakfast was much more than expected, prepared by a chef who loves her work. They handled my celiac and low FODMAP dietary needs without a problem. The plants are real, and the photos are genuine. The last block is a bit of a climb, and it’s not very wheelchair accessible. The neighborhood felt safe, much safer than it looks on Google. We had an excellent mattress and acceptable pillows, and didn’t use the air conditioning. There are roosters nearby, but the beautiful sunrises make up for them. We’re in the heart of old Mexico, a few short blocks from the beach, and within walking distance of the Malecon and Romantic district. Now that the secret is out, we’ll need to book next year before it’s gone!

The terraces on every floor are a lovely place to watch the sunset or cook with friends, and there’s even a wine cellar downstairs. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the continental breakfast was much better than expected. They’ll make whatever you want, and it’s free. Casa de Chayo was wonderful from the moment we arrived until we left. The staff are attentive and friendly, with a home away from home feel, and we felt safe and welcomed throughout. The building looks even better in person than in the photos. It’s centrally located at the base of Viejo Vallarta. Walk down the hill to Baracuda for great fish tacos and waves crashing nearby, or check out the many other bars, shops, and restaurants. Playa de Los Muertos is about a ten minute walk. We’ll definitely come back!

The rooms are divine, with Mexican boutique style at its best. I’d give this little piece of paradise ten stars if I could. The rooftop bar serves the best breakfast I’ve had in a while, with a magical view. The staff are so warm and friendly, they’d bend over backwards to help. We don’t want to leave, and can’t wait to return. We’ll recommend it to everyone! ❤️🇲🇽

My stay at Casa de Chayo was lovely, even with a bit of a reservation kerfuffle. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the view is spectacular, and the staff are friendly and attentive. What a special place!
