Casa María Malecón

Javier communicated with us really well, thank you! We loved the balcony view and had coffee there in the morning and wine in the evening. The studio was comfortable and a nice size, with a good kitchen, though there was no wardrobe, so our clothes stayed in our suitcases. You can't beat the location, with the beach only 20 meters away and restaurants, shops, and local sights all within walking distance. Highly recommend it, and we'd definitely go back.

I was disappointed, especially for the price, and wouldn't stay here again. I've stayed at another property from this brand and expected this Casa to be five-star too, but it didn't match Casa Colibri next door. We booked the loft because it looked luxurious, but it wasn't. The photos suggest a private balcony sitting area, yet guests from other rooms walk through the balcony to reach their rooms. We planned to use the kitchen all week, but the large fridge was broken and the mini fridge leaked. The place needs some TLC: the walls were damaged and stained, the couch was torn and stained, and the toilet was loose and sometimes leaked. Even with the exhaust fan on, the bathroom smelled moldy after every shower. If you're looking nearby, I'd recommend Casa Colibri instead. It's owned by the same people, though I assume it's managed differently.

Javier kept in touch throughout, and when I arrived late he made me feel safe. Everything was clean and in good condition. The room and toilet could be better, but the price is cheap, so the value exceeded my expectations. I had a pleasant stay and recommend it. The location is amazing, right beside the malecón and within walking distance of everything. Thanks, Javier.

We liked the soft, comfortable bed, the location near the malecon, and the upstairs lounge and smoking area. They also let us leave our bags before check-in, and the communal sunscreen was a nice touch. Netflix helped drown out other guests yelling in the middle of the night. Our room, #1, had a partly broken door handle that was hard to use. The safe was broken too, and when I reported it, they offered no solution. There were gaps around the balcony door, so it didn't block sound. Guests yelled on their balcony until well after 3 am, and although we told the hotel around midnight, nothing was done. The bathroom smelled strongly of sewage. We felt we paid too much for what we got.
