The main drawback was privacy. We could hear everything from the neighboring room and hallway, and guests at the hotel across the street disturbed us too because the balcony door didn't block the noise. Construction at the building next door started around 8am, though I understand that's outside the hotel's control. The hotel itself was very nice and tidy, and I loved the way it was decorated with plants. The rooftop was the loveliest place to have breakfast and spot whales at sea.

Before arriving, make sure you have all the details for getting into the building and your room. There's no lobby, receptionist, or valet, and you have to carry your own luggage, so travel light. The church bells ring every 15 minutes, enjoy! The views are amazing, and it's a lovely place to relax, watch sunsets, and spot whales. We loved our stay in the Canary PH, which was pretty much the whole floor. Breakfast was OK, nothing grand, but it's free. Just be ready for stairs, since they can be a problem if you have trouble with them. I didn't mind, though, and counted walking up and down as exercise.

My biggest issue was the construction next door. There are no exterior walls on the shared construction side of either building, so the noise was INSANE, starting around 7am and going late into the night. The workers were loud too, hollering and singing. No naps or sleeping in, and eventually I dreaded going back to the room to hear the grinding and hammering. I don't think this should have been left off the booking website. Our room also had no blackout drapes, so I woke up at 7am to men yelling and sun in my eyes. I wouldn't stay here again. We were here for six nights in mid-May 2025. The location is great, an easy walk to everything in Zona Centro or Romantica, though it's up a hill and the building has only stairs, which is a workout with bags. The rooftop is beautiful and breakfast is small but satisfactory. There's no front desk, more of an AirBnb vibe, and you check in with a code and handle everything yourself.

We booked Casa Pancha mainly because it’s close to the finish line at Los Arcos, where we were in town to run the UTMB race. My wife and I stayed in the Penthouse Canario on the third floor, and the whole complex exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and had a great kitchen with a full size fridge. The bed was perfect, especially for the recovery I needed after the long run. Breakfast on the rooftop one floor up will stay with us forever, and the pool was perfect for cooling off after a hot afternoon exploring. Thanks so much!

The main downside was outside Casa Pancha's control: as of Nov ‘24, a new building was going up next door. The crew started early, around 7:30ish, and hammered all day. We didn't get much quiet during the day if we came back to nap, and the work meant an early wake-up. I don't know when it'll be finished, so check with Casa Pancha admins before booking if that might bother you. The church bell next door seemed to ring every 15 mins, even overnight, so bring ear plugs. Also pack an eye mask since the window coverings aren't black out, and a floaty thing for the pool. As for Casa Pancha itself, the location was great and we could walk everywhere. The AC wall unit and ceiling fan worked well, the room was comfy and had everything we needed, and we liked the friendly, helpful staff and daily tidy up from house keeping. The rooftop and small pool had a great view, and we spent a lot of time there. Breakfast was included, though we skipped it because we wanted hot food. It was nice value for the money.
