When we arrived, the security guard handed us his phone, and Berta, the owner, said the agent we'd paid $1000 for the week's condo rental had taken $300 of our payment. She offered us a smaller interior unit two floors below our friends' pool-level unit, and she was abrupt and rude. The unit hadn't been cleaned. The security box didn't work, and after the first day we had no hot water in the shower. We kept asking for help and were told it would be handled, but it never was. Thankfully our friends let us use their security box for our passports and offered their shower. This trip gave us a first in Vallarta: a naked sponge bath in the kitchen, the only place in our unit with hot water. Never again. Find somewhere else to stay.

We were moved to a spacious one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath apartment with a wall of windows and a lovely view because the air conditioning in the apartment we'd booked wasn't working. The location was quiet and really convenient, and Omar was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. I was surprised to see the negative reviews after such a positive stay. Highly recommend, and we hope to return soon.

The price was high for what we got, and I wouldn't recommend it. The pool was there, but the hot tub shown in the photos wasn't filled. The photos also hadn't been updated: a huge building blocked the view, and the nearby work was loud and unpleasant. The sheets were stained and clearly hadn't been washed. I tried to wash them, but the washer and dryer didn't work. The employees, a woman and a man, looked tired and miserable, and had no uniform to identify them. They did let me use the machines in the storage room, but that area was a mess. I was very disappointed with the owner, ‘Bertha’.

Construction noise surrounded the place every day except Sunday, and dust from the work, including concrete dust, got everywhere. The staff tried to keep things clean. The hot tub was colder than the pool, and the barbecue was missing parts and couldn't be used. Manager Bertha doesn't care about guests and shouldn't be in hospitality. Stay away, it's not worth the price even if it were free.
