The resort is large, beautiful, and meticulously maintained, with several pools, a great beach, and a lazy river. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Food and drinks cost a lot, and it’s not a cheap stay, though if money isn’t a problem, give it a try. The reason I can’t rate it 5/5 is the pressure to attend sales meetings. They say it’ll take an hour, but ours was about four hours and very aggressive.

The facilities are beautiful and well maintained, and the beach is lovely. That was the only redeeming part of the stay. We’d booked a room for 8 adults months ahead, but at check-in we were told it was no longer available. As a supposed solution, they gave us two rooms with one bed each, barely enough for two adults per room. That was completely unacceptable and nothing like what we’d reserved. Getting around Vidanta was also poorly organized. I understand it was high season, but guests had to wait for hours just to reach a restaurant or leave the hotel.

The Grand Luxxe had immaculate grounds, amazing amenities and food, and kind people. Kids would love it. Overall, we had a great stay, though check-in was a concern. We were taken to a convention center and our passports were collected. I assumed it was check-in, but it was actually a sales area where they tried to recruit us to buy a timeshare, even though we’d never said we were interested. We spent 1.5 hours there, then were shuttled to our hotel and waited another 1.5 hours to complete the real check-in. I understand that timeshares need to be sold, but there has to be a better way that doesn’t waste the time of the resort or guests who aren’t interested.

The grounds are lush and beautiful, with a tropical atmosphere unlike most beach resorts we’ve visited. The beach is massive, the pools are excellent, and when we were there the resort was reportedly at about 26% capacity. Some pool areas were nearly empty, which made the stay especially relaxing. Grand Luxxe accommodations and amenities were outstanding, and most staff were friendly and helpful. I want to recognize the people who supported us professionally and with empathy while we sorted out our rooms. We recently came with a group of 13 people across five reservations at Vidanta Nuevo Nayarit. Our Grand Bliss reservation was honored without a problem, and we enjoyed the stay. The other four reservations were for 2-bedroom units at The Grand Mayan, but we were told on arrival that maintenance issues meant none were available. At first, we were told everyone would have to move into 1-bedroom units, which didn’t fit our group or what we had booked. We spent several hours trying to resolve it, and felt our concerns weren’t heard at first. Management eventually moved all four guest reservations into Grand Luxxe 2-bedroom suites at no extra cost. After that, the rest of the vacation was excellent, and we appreciated their effort to make things right. Israel and Maritza at the Grand Bliss concierge desk were especially helpful. Israel showed real empathy and did what he could, even without direct authority over the room issue. He listened, communicated well, and made us feel supported. Maritza helped through the week with reservations, bookings, and checkout. She was clear about charges and departure instructions, and a pleasure to work with. As a Vida Vacations member, I know how the resort and presentation system usually works. Guests should expect persistent invitations to sales breakfasts and membership presentations. Most interactions were polite, but the approach sometimes felt too pushy, especially after people in our group declined. One sales representative made a personal comment that crossed a line and felt inappropriate, an unnecessary disappointment during an otherwise relaxing vacation. We ended up enjoying the trip and making great memories. My main advice is to check accommodation details carefully and be ready to advocate for yourself if an issue comes up at check-in. The resort was beautiful and the vacation memorable, but the arrival experience kept it from feeling like a seamless 5-star stay.
